OnePlus 16 launched, priced about $895 (~Php 56k) and up in China

Its 16GB + 512GB model costs about $390 (about Php 24,000) more than the OnePlus 15's did at launch.

The OnePlus 16 has just been officially launched, with a base price of CNY 5,999 (about $895 or Php 56,000) for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, according to its listing on Oppo’s official store in China. Full-payment pre-orders for it opened tonight, October 12th, and shipping begins tomorrow, October 13th.

Our launch preview already listed some of the hardware: the 9,000mAh battery, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, and the fast 185Hz screen. Now we also have more details on the pricing:

  • 12GB + 256GB: CNY 5,999 (about $895 or Php 56,000)
  • 12GB + 512GB: CNY 6,799 (about $1,015 or Php 64,000)
  • 16GB + 512GB: CNY 7,499 (about $1,120 or Php 70,000)
  • 16GB + 1TB: CNY 8,499 (about $1,270 or Php 80,000)

From now until October 31st, all versions can be pre-ordered with a small discount, so the base model costs CNY 5,699 or about Php 53,400 only. The small price reduction is welcome, but it’s still more expensive than last year’s flagship phone from OnePlus.

When the OnePlus 15 launched in October 2025, its 16GB + 512GB variant was sold for CNY 4,899 (about $730 or Php 46,000). Now the new one with the same  amount of memory and storage costs  about $390 or Php 24,000 more, a 53% jump. In fact even the old model is pricier now too: it’s available for CNY 5,999 (about $896 or Php 56,200), same as the base model OnePlus 16.

But there’s no doubt about which one is the better phone: the OnePlus 16’s battery charges at up to 100W by cable, from 1% to 100% in 52 minutes, and 50W wirelessly, though the wireless charger is sold separately. It can charge your earbuds or watch over a cable at 27W. The screen is 6.78 inches, and the phone is rated IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K against dust and water.

This phone is only available in China for now. So there’s no info on a release for anywhere in Southeast Asia yet. It’s the same deal with Oppo’s Find X10, which has people wondering if it plans to give its Find X10 a smaller battery in “selected markets” if and when it gets released outside of China. For now, the only places we can safely rule out might be Europe and North America, since OnePlus told TechCrunch in July that it will no longer launch new products there.

Bottom line: the OnePlus 16 is a China phone at a China price (have we said China enough times?). Maybe that’s all we need to know.
