This page explains what HYPRcurrent collects when you use the site, why, and who handles it.

Newsletter signups. The signup form for The Current is run by beehiiv. If you subscribe, beehiiv receives and stores your email address so it can send you the newsletter. When the form loads, beehiiv also sets a cookie in your browser for up to 30 days that records how you found the form. See beehiiv’s privacy policy. Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link.

Server logs. Our host, Namecheap, keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to run and protect the site. See Namecheap’s privacy policy.

Login security. Our login page records the IP address of failed login attempts so it can block attacks. This only affects people who try to log in.

Email. If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see how readers find and use HYPRcurrent: which stories get read, how people arrive, and roughly where they’re from. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects details such as your browser, device, the pages you view and an approximate location based on your IP address. We use these numbers in aggregate, not to identify individual readers, and we don’t sell them. You can block these cookies in your browser, or opt out with Google’s add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google explains how it handles this data at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Other cookies. Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading them doesn’t involve any other company. WordPress sets cookies only for our team when we log in. If any of this changes, we’ll update this page.

We don’t sell your data. We never sell or rent personal data.

Your choices. You can ask us to see, fix or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email hello@hyprcurrent.com.
