Huawei Pura 90 Plus will be the first phone with the Kirin 9025 chip

A new Kirin chip, revealed by a store unit, not by Huawei

Huawei’s Pura 90 Plus will be the first phone with the Kirin 9025, a new chip in Huawei’s Kirin line. IT Home found the phone on display in stores the day Huawei opened pre-orders, and reports that a unit’s settings screen shows model LCI-AL00 and confirms the chip.

Huawei’s own store listing doesn’t name the chip. By name, the Kirin 9025 sits between the Kirin 9010S in the standard Pura 90 and the Kirin 9030S in the Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max, Huawei’s spec pages show.

The Pura 90 Plus also ships with HarmonyOS 7, and the store unit runs version 7.0.0.105. Huawei lists HarmonyOS 6.1 for the other three Pura 90 models, and the Plus’s 2,848 × 1,276 screen resolution matches none of theirs.

Huawei’s Vmall store lists the phone for pre-order with a deposit, but no price yet. Its renders show a triangular camera island with three cameras, on a purple back that fades to peach toward the bottom.

Every version has 12GB of RAM, with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage, in black, white, purple or gold. Black and white come only with 512GB, and Vmall estimates shipping by November 8th, or November 17th for the 256GB models.

Huawei holds its online Double 11 all-scenario launch at 2:30 pm Beijing and Manila time on October 28th (11:30 pm PT on October 27th), streamed on its China site. Full-payment pre-sales on Vmall open two hours later, at 4:30 pm, Huawei’s poster on the listing shows. For once, we’ll have a Huawei launch at a decent hour in Manila and at bedtime in California.
