Nintendo will launch Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Switch Online in the Philippines on November 10th, for both Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch, the company announced.
The store sells games, downloadable content and memberships. A membership brings online play, a library of games from past Nintendo consoles, member-only games and Save Data Cloud.
Until now, the Philippines had no eShop of its own. Nintendo’s support pages say the store you see always matches the country set on your Nintendo Account, so buying a digital game or a membership there meant an account set to another country.
Switch 2’s GameChat needs that paid membership, too. The new C Button on the right Joy-Con 2 opens it for voice chat through the console’s built-in mic, screen sharing and, with a compatible USB-C camera, video chat for up to four people at once. Nintendo’s Philippine Switch 2 page still says Switch Online is on its way.
Nintendo left the Philippines out of its Southeast Asia rollout last year. Its Singapore notice of October 2025 set Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand for November 18th, 2025, and said Nintendo was “working to launch” both services in the Philippines, with details once finalized. Finalizing took a year.
Nintendo’s new notice doesn’t list Philippine membership prices or payment options. If you plan to move an existing account over, its support pages say you’ll have to spend any eShop balance first, since it doesn’t carry over to a new country.
So, moving your account home on November 10th, or staying put?
