Oppo’s Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max will reportedly lose 850mAh of battery on the way to Europe, and cost €500 (about Php 34,300) more than last year’s models while they’re at it. That’s according to billbil-kun‘s leak at Dealabs, published October 2nd, which lists 7,150mAh batteries for both European phones. The Chinese versions, on sale since September 24th, have 8,000mAh.
The leaker has a strong record of getting European prices right before launch, so you could say they’re pretty reliable. It’s still a leak, though, and Oppo hasn’t confirmed any of it. The French prices he posted:
- Find X10: €1,299 (about $1,455 or Php 91,300) for 12GB RAM and 256GB, €1,499 (about $1,680 or Php 105,400) for 512GB
- Find X10 Pro Max: €1,799 (about $2,015 or Php 126,500) for 12GB RAM and 512GB
There’s no 16GB RAM model for Europe. The leak puts the launch on October 21st, with discounts for both the Find X10 and the Pro Max, plus a free Hasselblad teleconverter kit, Oppo Pad 5, or Watch X3 thrown in. Last year’s Find X9 started at €999 or Php 70,500 for the same 12GB and 512GB, so that’s a 50% jump in one generation.
Mainland China gets a much better deal. The same 12GB and 512GB Find X10 costs ¥5,999 (about $895 or Php 56,1800) there, and the Pro Max starts at ¥6,799 (about $1,015 or Php 63,700), Chinese outlet iFeng reported. So European buyers pay nearly double for the same storage and get about 11% less battery. Sales tax explains part of the price gap. It doesn’t explain the battery, however.
The rest of the phone doesn’t change much on paper. The European Pro Max keeps the Dimensity 9600 Pro, MediaTek’s top chip, its three 200MP cameras, and the same 80W wired and 50W wireless charging Oppo lists for the Chinese model. Oppo hasn’t said why Europe gets the smaller cell, and the leak doesn’t say either.
If you’re buying in Asia, check one number on launch day: the number on the battery. Anything smaller, and you’re getting Europe’s phone, apparently. Definitely something worth remembering.
