Honor’s Win2 series gaming phones cool themselves with two fans, an industry first, Honor product line president Fang Fei says in a Weibo post. Both the Win2 and the bigger-battery Win RT2 launch on October 21st at 2:30 pm China time (2:30 pm Manila; 11:30 pm Pacific, October 20th) and go on sale the same day.
An upright fan and a second fan on the phone’s side work together, pulling away heat that’s spread into the back panel and the screen from the main chip. Air turns 90 degrees on its way through, which Honor says cuts resistance. The two spin at up to 20,000 and 31,000 rpm, and Honor deemed them worth of having their own names: Uranus and Neptune.
For the Win2, Honor claims the pair of fans inside can move 1.19 cubic feet of air a minute, 2.8 times the industry’s biggest so far. It says that cools the whole phone by up to 14.4°C and the chip by up to 15.5°C, and a one-tap mode drops the temperature 10°C in 50 seconds.
The first Honor Win phone, from last December 2025, already had a cooling fan. Fang writes that hotter chips now spread heat across the whole phone faster, so warm spots away from the chip can cause throttling too, and that simply making the fan bigger could cost noise, looks and grip.
Having two fans hasn’t caused the series to lose water resistance, though. Honor rates it IP68, IP69 and IP69K for dust and water.
Both phones get a 2K screen at up to 185Hz in supported games and apps, run by Honor’s own Win Display chip. Honor says that the 2K 185Hz screen is an industry first too.
The series runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. A second post from Fang puts a 12,070mAh battery in the Win RT2 and 10,100mAh in the Win2, both typical figures; the rated capacities are 11,790mAh and 9,850mAh.
So far there’s one price: the Win2 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is ¥5,999 (about $900 or Php 56,500) at launch, or ¥5,499 (about $820 or Php 51,800) with China’s national subsidy. Deposits for both phones are open in Honor’s store now for those who are in China.
Honor will reportedly also show a Win tablet with its own fan and new Win earbuds at the same launch event, so if you’re a fan of Honor devices, better tune in this October 21st.
