Samsung’s Bixby is learning Thai, Vietnamese, and Polish, and Galaxy AI’s translation tools are next in line for Malay and Hungarian, Samsung announces. The Thai, Vietnamese and Polish support started rolling out on October 14th, and the Galaxy AI languages follow over the coming weeks.

Bixby now lets you control your phone by talking to it in your own words, without knowing what a setting is called or where it sits in a menu. The three new languages just added brings the total now to 12. It only needs a Samsung Account and a data connection to work.

Thai and Vietnamese have been Galaxy AI languages since at least 2024, and both already work in Live Translate on calls. Samsung’s own phone assistant is only now catching up.

Malay and Hungarian come to the features that translate, transcribe and summarize: Call Assist, Interpreter, Note Assist and Transcript Assist. That takes Live Translate on phone calls to 24 languages.

Once Malay arrives, Interpreter can translate a conversation in real time, as text on your phone’s screen or as audio in your Galaxy Buds. Transcript Assist can turn a recording into text, then summarize or translate it.

Now Nudge gets eight languages: Dutch, Filipino, Gujarati, Hungarian, Malay, Romanian, Swedish and Turkish, for 24 as well. It suggests a next step from what’s on your screen, like opening your calendar while you make plans with a friend over text.

Filipino already worked in the translation tools, so Now Nudge is where it’s new. One UI 9 already gave Now Nudge richer suggestions on the keyboard and across apps.

Samsung doesn’t name the phones or One UI versions that get the new languages, only that schedules and features vary by device and country. Its Galaxy AI page lists support on phones from the Galaxy S24 series on, and some of the new languages will come as language packs you download in Settings.

If you’re a Galaxy device user, better to just keep yours updated to the latest firmware if you don’t want to miss it.

In case you missed it
