GTA VI coming to PC in early 2027, just months after consoles: report

If true, then PC players won't wait 19 months this time.

Grand Theft Auto VI is reportedly coming to PC in the first three months of 2027, only a few months after it lands on consoles. Rockstar Games plans the PC release for that window, GamesBeat reports, citing four industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans, all of whom asked not to be named. Rockstar didn’t respond to GamesBeat’s request for comment.

Rockstar’s GTA VI page still lists only two platforms, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and says “Coming November 19, 2026.” Take-Two’s August earnings release lists the same two consoles and the same date, and no PC version. Xbox’s strategy chief says the game won’t stream to PCs when it launches on Xbox.

Grand Theft Auto V came out on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th, 2013, and didn’t reach PC until April 14th, 2015. That’s about a year and seven months.

PC players would significantly expand GTA VI’s audience, GamesBeat says, so Rockstar has every reason to reach them fast. For instance, all the roleplay on GTA V’s FiveM servers happens on PC, because the mod is built for the PC version, GamesBeat notes. Back in August 2023, Rockstar said the team behind FiveM was “now officially a part of Rockstar Games.”

Rockstar has already moved the console date twice: GTA VI was first announced for 2025, then slipped to May 26th and then to November 19th.
